Last month Palladium Books filed a lawsuit against Trion Worlds, makers of the upcoming MMORPG, Rift: Planes of Telara, citing trademark infringement of Palladium's long-running RPG, with the similar title of "Rifts." LivingDice has posted additional documents that update the current dilemma. As it turns out, Palladium Books filed for a TRO (Temporary Restraining Order) against Trion Worlds to try and prevent them from using the term "Rift" at E3 in Los Angeles next week. However, the court has rejected the TRO request, so it looks like we'll be seeing Rift: Planes of Telara at E3 after all.

LivingDice also posted Trion Worlds response to the allegations and the possible talk of settlements in the dispute. It doesn't look like this story is over just yet, so stay tuned and we'll update you when we have more.
