If youve got a home in The Lord of the Rings Online (LOTRO) that youve picked out in a nice little spot that you would like to keep, make sure that youre rent isnt too far past due before Update 11: Betrayal of the White Hand launches. When the update launches next week, Turbine will issue a final foreclosure notice to players that have homes with unpaid rent tallying more than 180 days. If the debt hasnt been settled within 60 days of the notice, Turbine will foreclose on the home and place it back on the market for new players to claim. Turbine also noted in the dev blog that the period in which this is enacted may be reduced later this year, so its not a one-time thing.
If you lose a home in this way your items will be placed in Escrow, but youll need to reclaim them all before you can rent a new home. And for those with lots of housing items and a couple of chests loaded with items, that could be a hassle, so make sure that the rent is paid if you want to keep your little piece of Middle-earth.
