the forests and swamps of Dunland, one of three new regions to be added
to the
Lord of the Rings Online
this fall with the Rise
of Isengard
expansion.

Dunland
– Adventure amidst the bright
forests in the foothills of the southern Misty Mountains. Beware the
Dunland Clans, rugged warriors tempted by the dark promise of power.

The backwater bayou swamps are a different
look - one can picture Jerry Reed lounging on the piers singing about
his ol' buddy Amos Moses.

Some of these landscapes will seem rather familiar, with
buildings and other man-made artifacts keeping with the Dunlending
aesthetic from Enedwaith - round buildings with thatched roofs, bull
totems, etc.

The pine forests are indeed bright - at least compared to the
gloom of Mirkwood or the vaseline-lensed murky glow of Lothlorien.

One can't help but wonder - which of these areas is going to
house Dragioch, the dragon that's so massive that the 24-player raids
seeking to end his threat will mostly only see his giant head?
