I’d been playing World of Warcraft for a year before I discovered /play. You type it in and the game tells you how many days you’ve played on a character and how long at your current level. Now think about how you’d feel if all that time was wasted, if your account was hacked. Devastated would be putting it mildly, eh?

Well, in keeping with their security campaign, Blizzard has posted a blog post on the basics of security. Yes, it’s the usual stuff: never share your password, don’t fall for phishing scams and get an authenticator. That said, it’s important stuff and it’s obvious not everyone’s paying attention - just look at all the “I’ve been hacked” threads. Go check it out, it might just save you a lot of time and heartache later on.
