At BlizzCon 2010 it was announced that direct pre-orders for Blizzard would be available for World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. Coming soon you will be able to pre-order Cataclysm directly from Blizzard allowing you to get into the game midnight the day the game is released. If you direct pre-order you'll be able to download all of the data on the DVD and have your account flagged ready for the content day one.
