Xmithie Will Play for CLG at League of Legends Worlds

by on Sep 25, 2015

The entire CLG fanbase breathed a collective sigh of relief

Earlier this month, we reported that Counter Logic Gaming's jungler, Jake "Xmithie" Puchero, would not be able to play with them in the League of Legends Season 5 World Championships due to visa issues that could not be resolved. Today, CLG announced that with a lot of help, they were able to take care of these issues, and Xmithie will be able to play with the team.

This is a huge development for North America's #1 seed in the tournament. If this hadn't occurred, the team would have needed to use Jae-Hyun “Huhi” Choi, a natural mid laner, in the jungle. This was obviously not ideal, and is now no longer necessary. After the announcement that Xmithie would not be able to play, several members of the League of Legends community stepped up to help CLG in their time of need. The organization extended special thanks to:

Paolo Bago from the Philippine Esport Organization

Michal Meduna from the European Commission

Also the Philippine Esports Team, Philippine Senator Bam Aquino and his office, and Norman E. Cualteros.

CLG staff members Devin “Mylixia” Nash and Matthew “Mattcom” Marikian

Our local advisor Joyluck

With the help of these individuals, CLG will be able to field their complete roster at Worlds. With how strong the team appeared in the NA LCS finals against Team SoloMid, it was a huge blow to North America's chances at the tournament when CLG's roster was appearing to be incomplete. Now, they may just have a fighting chance.
