Ten Ton Hammer Video of the Day

Take a trip through gaming history.

Video games have come a long way over the last few decades. Since the original incarnations of the home gaming consoles released back in the early 1970s, gaming began to slowly gain momentum heading into the 1980s. So what better way to cap off 2014 than with a look back through time at some of the earliest games and systems that helped pave the path to what makes up modern day gaming consoles.

In a multi-part video series from Time, multiple industry personalities chime in to talk about where home gaming first began and how it evolved into the juggernaut industry that it is today. You can check out the first two parts as today’s video feature.

If you enjoyed the first two parts, you can catch the Part 3 when it’s posted early next year. Perhaps at that time they’ll touch on the gaming crash of the 1980s.
