It's the end of the Waaagh as we know it.
Warhammer Online will sunset in just 8 short days, bringing an end to another MMORPG. Players can still log in and play for free until that time, but once the servers go out on December 18th, 2013, they wont be coming back on. As with many past game closures, the dedicated community that has made the game their home for the last few years has tried to save it by way of petitions and other campaigns, but those have had little success in the past.
While some fans fight to try and save the game, others are saying their goodbyes in creative ways. Earlier today I received an email pointing me to a video created through the efforts of several Warhammer Online players and guilds. The video is the finale in a multi-part machinima style movie series that highlights the history of Warhammer Online as seen from the players and in full story mode. The video includes everything from combat, scenic venues, story, custom artwork, and even a narrator.
This one clocks in at just over 25 minutes, so grab a snack and check it out.
