38 Studios founder Curt Schilling made an appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon this week to talk about Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning and Fallon's inquiry about a sequel to the newly released action RPG prompted Schilling to respond with, "Oh yeah." That response has gained a lot of media attention this week. While Schilling didn’t elaborate more on any sequel plans, the fact that a follow-up is in the works has been known for some time now.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is a prelude to the 38 Studios MMORPG project currently codenamed Copernicus, a game that we still know very little about. Whether or not Schilling was referring to that title, another installment of the Kingdoms of Amalur saga or simply misspoke is unknown, but best-selling fantasy author that R.A. Salvatore has already crafted 10,000 years worth of history for the fictional universe, so there’s certainly plenty of room for another game if they decide to include a second installment before the MMORPG is ready.

You can watch a brief clip of Schilling's interview with Fallon via Hulu embed after the break. Check out our full review of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning and visit the Amalur website to learn more about the game's universe.
