Why Can't
We Be Friends?

In the spirit of giving this
past holiday week, Mythic Entertainment introduced a style="color: rgb(238, 232, 170);"
href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/node/52006" target="_blank">Recruit-a-Friend
program for WAR. Why would they do that, you ask? It's simple, really -
they want more players, and it's easier to bring in new people using
our friendly faces, rather than a scary guy (like him). More players in
the game means even more of a
chance for the fortress zones to crash... Wait, that's not quite right.
More players mean more fun for all involved; especially me, if you
choose to play Destruction on my server!



The parameters are simple. You get 3 initial invitations to send to
your acquaintances. They play the free trial, and if they end up
subscribing, you get a free
month of game play on your subscription.
It's a real win-win situation. Now get out there and hit up all those
playing the lesser MMOGs, and point them in the right direction.

As I
scoured the Warhammer community for news and entertainment this week, I
ran into a few of my old favorites. At thegreenskin.com, the latest
href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/node/52061" target="_blank">ChaosCast
podcast is available for download. Included in the bevy of
topics is their speculation that two more classes are slated for
release very soon. A little email birdy has revealed a secret about
this topic to me, but I'm not talking. Just keep watching the news for
more information!



The WAR EU/GOA team has their guide to the style="color: rgb(238, 232, 170);"
href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/node/52069" target="_blank">Dwarf
Rune Priest. If you
can work around the funky Flash site, you'll get a nice peek in to what
the Devs and fellow players have to say on the class.

moment.
The evil Ghost Mount Bug is back, leaving many castle courtyards a
little over-crowded. The mount bug does have a fun side, though. During
a keep defense this weekend, I was able to hide inside a ghost mount
graphic leftover, and bring fire down on my enemies. They never saw
what hit 'em.





style="font-weight: bold;">Beer-fest Fun

This week's Christmas holiday brought out the best in everyone,
especially in the talented comic writers out there. Mr. Matthew tells a
tale of the href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/node/52062" target="_blank">Keg That
Stole Christmas (what's more important than
playing WAR, anyway?). Rackham outdid his Halloween masterpiece with a
special href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/node/52063" target="_blank">Peanuts
Christmas comic, WAR-style, of course. style="font-weight: bold;">



Mythic's own Mark Davis published a special version of an old holiday
classic, with his href="http://www.tentonhammer.com/node/52070" target="_blank">'Twas
the Night Before Keg End. What can you do with
a group of invading Greenskins?



The Keg End festivities rage on, all the way through the new year.
There's still time to earn your rewards and special Drunkard title.

Those pieces of
Siege Gear used in Keep assaults and defense are always decaying,
regardless if they're targeted by the enemy or not. Keep those Oils,
Ballistas and Rams in good condition by repairing them often. Anyone
can right click the siege weapon, choose the wrench icon on the far
left, and repair the item back up to full health.



So next time you are manning the Keep walls, waiting for an incoming
assault, take the time to move from weapon to weapon to maintain their
readiness. With enough action, those canons can last all day!
