Final Vote on July 8th

Activision will be holding a special shareholder meeting on July 8th to vote on the impending merger with Vivendi/Blizzard. While the vote is expected to go overwhelmingly in favor of the merger, it does take shareholder approval and is an important formality.

The firm has filed a proxy statement "relating to the proposed combination of Activision with Vivendi Games, Inc., the interactive entertainment business of Vivendi S.A." with the SEC, and has begun mailing its stockholders to inform them.

According to an official filing from Activision on Monday: "A special meeting of stockholders of Activision, Inc. will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2008, to consider and vote on proposals to approve the transaction and related matters." The vote will take place at a Beverly Hills hotel, the Peninsula.
