Last Friday, DC Universe Online’s release date was leaked on Amazon.com to general disbelief, but today January 11th was officially announced as DCUO’s ship date. With less than three weeks until launch (and two of those subsumed by the holidays), we’ll examine the reasons for and against the earliest launch in the calendar year by a triple-A MMORPG in our latest editorial at Ten Ton Hammer.com.

But we’re less than three weeks from go-time, and we haven’t yet seen any kind of open beta or stress test for the game. It won’t happen over the holidays, which leaves SOE a little more than a week to scale up their game and figure out load issues.
