As a player dives into Ether
Saga Online
, they might find themselves very involved in
their character—so involved that they might miss other
features ESO has to offer. Two features to make sure not to miss are
the reputation and crafting systems.

Acquiring reputation will allow players to acquire better items and
gear from Wehn, located at the top of the steps in Pokari. Reputation
points can be obtained by exchanging diplomatic items. Diplomatic
items, among other ways, can be obtained from random drops from monster
fights. Once you have a diplomatic item, take it back to the Reputation
agent (he is standing near Wehn). You cannot begin to work on
reputation until level 20.

Some examples of reputation rewards are items to double your EXP for a
short amount of time, bonus EXP for your pet, and an item to increase
your success rate in pet melding. Reputation rewards are very valuable,
so save your diplomatic items. To check your current level of
reputation, click on the Virtue button from the character
(‘c’) screen.

Ether Saga’s Crafting system is slightly more involved than
acquiring reputation, and players may find it very rewarding. To begin
crafting, a player must be level 15.

There are ten different types of crafting:

-Foraging, collecting herbs

-Mining, mining for ores

-Woodcutting, cutting trees for lumber

-Hunting, gathering skins from monster corpses

-Guardiancraft, for crafting Shaman and Dragoon gear. It partners with
Mining materials.

-Scoutcraft, for Rogue and Ranger gear. It partners with Woodcutting

-Arcanecraft, for Mystic and Conjurer gear. It partners with Hunting

-Herbalism, available for all classes and requires foraging

-Cooking, available for all classes and requires foraging

-Petcraft, creating bells and pet items

The first four of these types are gathering skills, which are required
for the class specific skills. A player can only learn two of the nine
skills, so they must be chosen carefully. For example if you are a
Conjurer and want to craft gear for your own class (Arcanecraft), you
should choose hunting as your first skill.

Every gathering craft requires a tool—those can be purchased
from vendors in cities. When purchasing please note what the tool can
be used to gather before buying. Also note that every tool has a chance
to break, so it is wise to buy several before setting off to gather
your materials. Locations can be found in your map preset locations if
you are in the vicinity of gathering nodes.

Crafting requires recipes in order to craft items for the particular
vocation. Recipes can be obtained through a variety of means. You can
purchase many recipes from vendors. More rare recipes can only be found
from monster drops in dungeons. Of course, you can always trade recipes
with other players. Many recipes require auxiliary materials in order
to craft the item. These can be purchased from vendors as well, or
acquired from monster drops.

There are several benefits to crafting. It can be preferable to
purchasing equipment from an NPC because the item will receive better
stats than the default item stats. In addition to this, since the stats
are random, each craft will be slightly different, so you
won’t be confined to making the exact same item repeatedly.
And with crafting, you will spend less in-game money—although
more time—to get those special items.
