There's a lot of misinformation floating around the Internet about what Windows Vista, Microsoft's new OS set to release in early 2007, will mean to PC gaming. Can games released post-Vista work on prior versions of Windows? Is expensive new hardware required for a fully DirectX 10-optimized system?

Microsoft's XNA framework enables developers to easily develop parallel versions of a game for DX 9 and DX 10. Here's hoping that developers and publishers will be equally accomodating in releasing XP / Vista compatible games in the same box."
