Today Hi-Rez Studios disclosed the pricing model details for Global
Agenda, the futuristic MMO shooter scheduled for release early in 2010.
Players will be able to experience the major features of the game
subscription-free for the $US 49.99 retail price. An optional monthly
subscription of $12.99 / month ($11.49/mo for 3 months, $9.99/mo for 6
months) will unlock the persistent Alliance vs. Alliance territory
control side of the game along with a host of additional features cited
below.

We spoke with Todd Harris, Executive Producer of
Global Agenda, after
the announcement to learn a little more about what each pricing option
entails.  "We're really excited about the pricing
model, because we really think it's going to enable more
players
to check out the game. Some people, when they hear that there's a
subscription, it's not on their radar. This removes that roadblock and
hopefully any kind of confusion about whether [Global Agenda] is an MMO
or isn't an MMO, because to us it's always been a different kind of
MMO.

"Additionally, we designed the game thinking we could have a really
thriving community of folks competing for territory where there's
actually victory conditions on a group level. We haven't really seen a
lot of that in the marketplace and were excited to play it, so we think
that we'll have a lot of subscribers that want to do the AvA [Agency
vs. Agency] as well. So we tried to make the pricing model consistent
with the gameplay, ultimately. If players want to play it like a
multiplayer shooter, they can do that and have a great time. For people
that want to do the ongoing Conquest gameplay, we're excited that we'll
have a large community that wants to do that."

Here's the newly-revealed breakdown between Global Agenda
