There's such a thing as taking a joke too far...

But that didn't stop our resident EQ2 comic Coyote Sharptongue from having a little fun with the "Search for Lucan" April Fools' joke played by the SOE - EQ2 dev team. The "contest" played on last year's "Search for Antonia" - where a real-life beauty won a yearlong modelling contract to represent EQ2 at tradeshows and such. While Antonia was symbolic of all things good, pure, and busty, Lucan D'Lere is the game's arch-villain.

Well... it turns out the fake contest yielded a few anxious contestants. To save face, Coyote was chosen to judge/summarily dismiss all those who seek to hold court in Freeport.

The next candidate growls as he leaps onto the table from the shadows. His dead eye glints wickedly from behind it’s scarred flesh as his lips curl back in an angry sneer. Stepping forward he raises an accusing finger to the judge and scowls with malice.

Coyotee looks at him, obviously not intimidated, and no longer impressed as he folds his arms over his chest. “You’re a GNOME.” The Kerran points out as the pint-sized Overlord’s sneer fades.
