The Secret World (TSW) is taking a unique approach to MMOG settings by basing itself in the real world and mixing all the conspiracies and mythologies in as fact. This makes for an interesting setting and a lot of potential intriguing mechanics and gameplay. TSW's Creative Director/Senior Producer Ragnar Tørnquist recently took some time to talk about progression, PvP, story and Funcom's ARG ties to the game. In fact, ARG games will continue to play a part in how players solve certain puzzles in the game via outside sources post-launch.

We’re looking at ways for players to interact with the game and the world while they’re away from the computer. In fact, with our investigation missions, players will have to go outside the game in order to solve intriguing puzzles based on real history, myth, legends, conspiracy theories, and they’ll also need to cooperate with other players via forums or chat in order to basically solve these really deep and complex ARG style problems. Some missions are designed to take weeks to crack, even with the help of the entire community.
