World of Warcraft is full of fun and exciting PvP, but the big question is if that PvP can be considered an esport. You know, like professional football except with a mouse and keyboard replacing the pigskin and jerseys kicked aside for tabards and epics. David "Xerin" Piner delves into the issues facing the arena and how he thinks it isn't esport material. After you're done reading his opinion why not join us in our forums to share your thoughts on this subject.

Some abilities that work wonders in PvE absolutely can either suck or rock in PvP because players aren’t dumb dragons who put fire on the ground for idiots to stand in. They move around and their defenses work differently (5% hit is all you need). So you’re in a constant war between making classes good in PvE and PvP. Shamans for instance were nerfed at one time because of the arenas and now Fan of Knives is hitting the nerf stick because it’s the only ability Rogues use in the arena thereabouts (but Rogues are currently under represented in the arena, think on that one).

Are arenas esport material? Why not read and then tell us whatcha think?
