The entire Ten Ton Hammer network is a GOLD FREE SITE. We prefer to support the developers making these fine games then those profiting off of the developers hard work. If you want to know more about our stance on the secondary market then check out this press-release detailing why we will never allow links to any site that supports the secondary market industry. If you see a gold link creep in, please let us know so that we can remove it.

Please know that I try to respond to as many e-mail as I possibly can, but with the deluge that often comes it simply isn't humanly possible. Rest assured that I read every e-mail that I receive, even agreeing with some of them.

Remember, the opinions expressed in Loading... are not necessarily those of TenTonHammer.com, it's partners, affiliates, rodeo clowns, Taurens or Gallente Carrier Pilots.

Your numbers: 227 new Loading... minions have subscribed to the gospel of MMOG in the first 12 days of September. 17 people have either passed away or changed their e-mail address resulting in unsubscriptions. I'll be passing those addresses out to the list later. The 2,270 of you that are still subscribed can hunt them down. Spread the word! Remember, they are either "afore" us or "agin" us.

More numbers for you! Our WoW Census (in beta - get testing and crank those numbers up! Your characters may not be listed!) now contains 708,205 character records. Our WoW Database (more beta - more testing) now contains 3,052 quests, 10,823 NPC records (complete with map locations) and 1,319 comments from our loyal readers.

Yesterday was a huge day. The StarGate Worlds exclusive screenshots hit the site and people went nuts. We had to call in SG 3, SG 7 and SG 11 just to keep the peace.

Today we have six, count 'em six Vanguard: Saga of Heroes movies for you to enjoy. I take back what I wrote about Brad McQuaid being the Penguin. He has been doling out videos faster than Anna Nicole Smith can find a 90-year-old husband. We've got four of them here and two more of them here. We've got so many we can't even put them all in one place.

The only way I can erase the "Penguin" comments is to go back in time. I'm taking out the following advertisement in newspapers across North America. I'll probably even run it again in Craig's List.

"Wanted: Somebody to go back in time with me. This is not a joke. You will get paid after we get back. Must bring your own weapons. Safety is not guaranteed. I have only done this once before. "

Let the requests flood in!

Pat, our C.E.O. has asked me in the past why I don't post/respond to some of the mail that I receive about the column. I told him that I didn't want to take private mail and make it public. That or I was too lazy to do it. It was one or the other. To prove that I'm not lazy I will reply to one of your letters publicly, but not today, I don't feel like it.

World of Warcraft has been having problems with keyloggers, nasty little programs that attach themselves to your computer when you visit the many pornograffiti sites that you frequent in a day. They then track every keystroke that you make, sending it back to the pornograffti purveyors who can then log into your account. These wily and conniving miscreants then take all of your great virtual loot and virtual currency and sell it. What does this tell me?

Gold Farmers = Pornography Dealers.

The simple answer, stop playing WoW. You certainly aren't going to stop viewing pornograffiti on the Interwebs. I would have linked you to one of the many boo-hooing threads on the WoW official forums, but the forums, like the WoW servers are melted.
Should I go back in time? If so, do you have a spare flux capacitor? What is your opinion on keyloggers? Is it Blizzard's fault?

Post a comment at the bottom of this blog. If you are shy (or female and sending in naughty pictures) you can E-Mail me.

Every good guild needs a home. A home free of gold ads, secondary market farmers. Look no further than GuildPortal.com.

  • Op:Ed: Bigger Is Not Always Better
"With the onslaught of MMORPGs , Awenyddion determines that bigger does not always mean better. Games like World of Warcraft and Warhammer may be on your radar, but maybe it’s time to take a look at the smaller independent niche games. Sometimes, those are the games that give you the most bang for your buck."
  • Dungeons and Dragons Online: Ranger Class Update
"The DDO ranger is a damage machine when built correctly. To build a good ranger, you need to know about their many free ranged and melee Feats. Our updated class introduction lists all of the Feats rangers gain for free and collects all of the links to our handy DDO ranger guides in one spot!"
  • EverQuest 2: I'm Special Darn It!
"No one wants to be just like everyone else, but has it become a trend in MMO developing to make things easier, by making cookie cutter characters? With character skin creation, race choices, class choices, and achievement points are we really getting enough to make each of our beloved characters truly unique? Savanja takes a look at character specialization with her article "I'm Special Darn it!"."
  • Vanguard: Saga of Heroes - Two New Combat Videos
"Brad McQuaid, CEO of Sigil Games Online and Executive Producer of Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, released two more videos taken by Sigil programmer Jerrith. One shows some close range combat in a dungeon. The other, shot outdoors, takes a look at combat from zoomed-out third person perspective, allowing you to get a good look at the surroundings as well as spell effects. Like these videos? There will be even more available at Vanguard Ten Ton Hammer soon! "
  • Vanguard: Saga of Heroes - Four More Videos
"Brad McQuaid has handed out what could be the last of the Vanguard: Saga of Heroes videos we see before SOE begins revving its marketing engines and putting out slick new productions. If you want a quick honest peek at Vanguard in beta 3, these videos should do the trick. We've got vast numbers of them at Vanguard Ten Ton Hammer, and our own Phil "Ralphedelominius" Comeau stayed up into the wee hours of the morning uploading them. I think you're obligated to check these out. If not for yourself...do it for Phil."
  • Vanguard: Saga of Heroes - Death And Fun For Profit
"Do you see dead people? Love having a minion to do your dirty work? The Vanguard: Saga of Heroes Necromancer promises to be a popular class for people who like power and live for the creep factor. Charabis shares a little bit about why the Necromancer is one of his favorite classes. Customizable abominations? What's not to like! "
