Have you sent me an e-mail and I haven't written back? I try to respond to as many e-mail as I possibly can, but with the deluge that often comes to my mailbox it simply isn't possible to reply to everyone. Rest assured that I read every e-mail that I receive, though I ask for help with the big words.

Remember, the opinions expressed in Loading... are not necessarily those of TenTonHammer.com, it's partners, affiliates, midget wrestlers, Tom Cruise or Brangelina Jolie. I do speak for Vin Diesel.

My Blackberry has lived on my desk since whenever I got the bloody thing. To this day it interferes with my computer speakers (only on the PC, not the Mac) and the radio in my car and truck. I will be working along and out of the blue this screeching beeping sound that I can only imagine sounds like a pig being castrated with a butter knife comes squealing out of my speakers.

I spent my morning working on a new comic rather than a column. Not the smartest move I've ever made, but hey, we need a new comic. I hope to have it in wunderwebmaster Darren's hands by this afternoon.

Rather than send this column out any later than it already is, I leave you with this:

Numerous specialized classes versus generic classes is the topic that our community managers are covering today. What are your thoughts regarding class setup and structure?

Post a comment at the bottom of this blog. If you are shy (or female and sending in naughty pictures) you can E-Mail me.

  • Op/Ed: Class Proliferation
"The topic this week is classes - how many is too many? In fantasy MMOs, there's really only three roles: take damage, deal damage, or heal damage. However, players like to be more unique than those 3 roles seem to allow, so how can developers fulfill their expectations without watering down distinctions between the classes?"
  • Dungeons And Dragons Online: The Balancing Act - Games With Class
"What's better: a game where every class feels distinct and has unique abilities or a game where any player can do anything so long as she builds intelligently? Ralsu answers resoundingly in favor of games with specialized classes. He takes a look at the balancing act developers must undergo to make a good game "with class" and says DDO is does it right."
  • EverQuest 2: Finding Class In MMOs
"Does the class you choose define who you are as a player, or does who you are as a player make your class? Savanja looks into what finding class in EverQuest II is all about, what makes class progression and choices great, and why APs could be the answers to all of our prayers."
  • Gods And Heroes: Got Class?
"Do you play a specialized class, or are you more of a buffet player, wanting a little of everything? Kiara delves into her experiences of utility versus specific skilled classes. You'll also learn why you never group with her, unless she's playing a healer."
  • Vanguard: Saga Of Heroes - The Battle Of The Classes
"Nurse Nancy does one thing, and she does it well--she's a healer. MacGyver, on the other hand...well, what exactly does he do? I'm not entirely sure, but I'm pretty sure that, in a clinch, I'd want the guy with the paperclip, rubber band, aerosol can and duct tape in my corner. In this week's editorial about specialist classes versus generalists, I go up against Medeor in an epic battle of words. I'm the generalist, which makes me MacGyver. Where that leaves Medeor the specialist I'm not so sure. Read the article and decide for yourself who you'd rather have in your corner."
  • Warhammer Online: Ten Ton Thoughts
"All of the Zone & Class overviews at the TenTonHammer Warhammer site have been updated with a new section entitles "Ten Ton Thoughts". These 'Cliff Notes' are for those who want the quick information on the applicable zone or class. So if you're uninterested in pages & pages of background, here's a quick two second read on all our classes!"
  • Warhammer Online: Got Class?
"Should hybrids have rights? In this week's common content article Ratboy examines the art of balancing 'jack of all trade' classes against the standard 'holy trinity' of gaming classes. Should the hybrid classes be put in camps to seclude them, or should they be accepted. Ratboy discusses."
  • World of Warcraft: This Game Has No Class
"Ever wonder why games have classes? Real life doesn't, we are not born and have our destiny set at that instant. We make it up as we go along, changing and adapting to what life throws at us, and for the most part it seems to work ok. With that in mind, today I tackle the topic of classes in games. Are they a requirement or are some games better without them? I look at my two current favorite MMO’s and compare their approach to classes, which are very different. Which is more appealing, a game with many specialized classes or a game with many jack-of-all-trades?"
  • World of Warcraft: Guide to Naxxramas Updated
"We now have a guide on defeating Maexxna, the last boss within the Spider Wing inside of Naxxramas. We include all of the information you need to take out this evil enemy and continue towards the ultimate goal, defeating Kel'Thuzad!"

Vin Diesel Fact of the Day - Vin Diesel knows the greatest thing before sliced bread.
Now from the real world. You can't make this stuff up. [Thanks Matt for the headline leads.]
