EverQuest Goes Free-to-Play March 16th

Posted Fri, Feb 24, 2012 by Martuk

Few subscription MMORPGs have stood the test of time like EverQuest, but the subscription model is becoming an optional deal these days in many games and Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) announced in January that EverQuest would be undergoing some changes in that regard. The long-running MMORPG will celebrate its 13th birthday next month and still maintains one of the most loyal fan bases of the genre.

As part of the 13th anniversary festivities, SOE has announced that the new free-to-play model for EverQuest will begin on March 16th. The new model will introduce three options for players to choose from: Free, Silver ($5.99/mo) and Gold ($14.99/mo). Check out the subscription options page and FAQ to learn what each will offer.
