The bastion build is designed to be
a fortress that a party can rally around.  With high damage
reduction while using a tower shield, a good intimidate skill, a good
armor class, and fair resistance to magic, the bastion can protect his
or her allies and still be a moderately good fighter.



The bastion has a weakness toward href="http://ddo.tentonhammer.com/index.php?module=ContentExpress&func=display&ceid=209">spell
damage.  It is important to keep the bastion equipped with
elemental protection potions and healing potions for when spell points
are not enough.  In combat, the bastion builds should draw melee
opponents toward themselves while others deal with casters.  After
casters are dealt with, deal with melee opponents next.  Meanwhile
the bastion draws the agg from melee opponents using both intimidate
and shield bash.



Some options with the bastion build are to switch the slashing
proficiency and improved critical for blunt proficiency.  This
allows better use of shield bash, since shield are blunt weapons. 
Bastion builds are not damage dealing classes per se, they are
supportive of href="http://ddo.tentonhammer.com/index.php?module=ContentExpress&func=display&ceid=476">damage
specialized warriors.

race:  The bastion build is very advantageous as a Drow.
