The Incantrix (or Incatar, if male)
is a arcane caster who specializes in use of
href="http://ddo.tentonhammer.com/index.php?module=ContentExpress&func=display&ceid=264">metamagic.
Not satisfied with merely affecting opponents with a wide selection of
arcane abilities, the incantrix can manipulate spells to be more useful
in a variety of ways, with much more ability than your average spell
caster. In addition, the concern of penetrating the spell
resistance of demons, drow and other powerful, magic-resistant
creatures is not one that troubles the mind of an incantrix. The
skills in the manipulation of the raw laws of magic lend themselves to
penetrating the arcane defenses of these foes.
This build is one that requires attention to the specifics of
meta-magic (how it works and when it is needed or not) and a careful
eye when adventuring toward opportunities to use metamagic in
appropriate conditions. Simply having this build does not mean
one should turn on one's metamagic feats and "go to town", it's
important to conserve points when possible, just like any other arcane
caster. However, because of the reduction in cost of metamagic
feats, the Incantrix can more easily use metamagic feats without fear
of

out of points at a bad time.
