The slayer of the dead is a
href="http://ddo.tentonhammer.com/index.php?module=ContentExpress&func=display&ceid=140">cleric
who gives up combat ability and some casting ability to be good at one
thing, destroying of the undead. With their
href="http://ddo.tentonhammer.com/index.php?module=ContentExpress&func=display&ceid=447">specialization,
they are very effective at this. The slayer of the dead can turn
a total of 16 times a day, as a level 18 cleric (before a sacred item),
meaning they can turn on average a 19 hit dice undead, and affect up to
30 hit dice of
href="http://ddo.tentonhammer.com/index.php?module=ContentExpress&func=display&ceid=36">undead
(or destroy up to 9 hit dice undead).
In combat, they are mainly supportive, healing and buffing, and using
some crowd control or similar. But against the undead, they
shine, being able to turn undead often even on elite, and being able to
do a lot of damage to them otherwise using divine light and cure spells.
When fighting undead, they have three options. They can turn, but
should avoid it in the case of incorporeal undead (since they will tend
to flee through walls). Against incorporeal undead, divine light
shines (pardon the pun), since it is an aoe, it will hit any undead who
are not phased out of existance. Finally, they have the option to
use healing spells for damage (hence conjuration focus), which is
buffed just like a damage spell is for an arcane caster.. but since
this isn't the most efficient, it should be the last option taken.
