EQ2: Status Loot Guide
What are Status Loot Items?
Status Loot items are relics that the factions will purchase for a small amount of money and status which goes toward a players personal status pool and guild experience. Each specific faction will only buy a status item related to their guild, unless you go to the general city merchants that will purchase all. They can be randomly picked up off of dead creatures throughout the world of Norrath. There are many variations of status loot such as who will take them and how much factions will give you for turning them in.
What do I do with these Status Loot Items?
Turn your newly aquired status items in to the faction who will take them. Once you pick up a status loot item, enter your inventory and examine it. A window will open hinting as to where you might want to turn it in. Return to that specific faction and talk with one of the NPCs that gives out writs for that faction. You can turn in status loot items to any of them.
To turn an item in, treat the writ giver like a merchant. Right click the merchant and choose sell. Scroll through your items until you find the correct status item to sell. You will know which one will net status points by the light blue number next to the coin labled with "sp" next to it.
Don't worry if you are working with one faction in paticular. Turning in status loot items for one faction does not affect any of the others.
How much SP (status points) will I get?
How much SP does my guild get?
Status points aquired from turning in status loot works the same way as completing writs and heritage quests. You will recieve 100% of the status for your own personal use and an additional percentage of that status goes to the guild. Here is how the eqation works:
Aquired Status Points Number of Unique Accounts in your guild (no less than 6 and no greater than 24) = Guild Status Points
For example:
If a guild has 10 main characters in guild, the status points that a player turns in will be divided by 10 and that amount would go to the Guild
If a guild has 24 or more main characters in guild, the status points that a player turns in will be divided by 24. That is the maximum number status will be divided by.
(When I use the term "main character" I am referring to a character that is not an alternate character)
How is Status Loot Points Measured?
The amount of Status points that are awarded depends on the type of item that drops from a mob. The type of item that drops from a mob will depend on the level or tier of that creature. You will mostly see tier 3 items drop in the Thundering Steppes, but will come across some Tier 2 status items in some of the less dangerous spots.
