Knowing how to level up fast in Ark: Survival Evolved is important because the quicker you level, the sooner you will be able to unlock the more powerful engrams that will make staying alive a lot easier. Levelling in Ark doesn’t only provide material benefits though, each time you level you can increase your personal stats that dictate everything from total health and attack damage, to the amount of inventory you can carry.

Initially levels come fast an easy, but as you progress they are few and far between. To help you speed along the process, here are our tips for fast levelling in Ark: Survival Evolved.

Craft Your Way to the Top

Crafting items is one of the easiest, and safest, ways to level in Ark. Some items will give more experience than others, but no matter what you craft, it will always give you experience.

Some of the more popular items for power levelling are Gunpowder (1xp per craft), Notes (1xp), Narcotics (2xp), Hats (1xp). These items give at least one experience point per item crafted, but have the added benefit of taking very little time to complete, and requiring very little in terms of crafting materials.

When you get yourself your first Steggo or Trike the process becomes extremely easy as you can use them to quickly farm areas for Fibre and berries.

The gains from crafting are multiplied exponentially if you can get others I your tribe to do it together at the same time. Get organized!

Be in a Tribe

There are no real downsides to being in a tribe, in fact the game heavily encourages it. Experience benefits from being in a tribe are huge, with each player receiving half of a nearby tribemates experience gains.

Just remember that you need to be somewhat close to the tribemate to get the experience, so if you are crafting craft together. Going out foraging? Group up to increase your experience gains.

Taking Down Dinos

It’s a dangerous method of Xp farming but it works. Each creature kill will get you a nice chuck of Xp: usually around 10 – 15xp for Trikes, more for larger, tougher creatures. If you are thinking about going this route, it will also be a good idea to put your skill points into stamina and melee damage to reduce the amount of time it takes to kill an animal, and increase the amount of damage you can take before dying yourself.

Again, tribes can make dino farming a lot easier. Hunting parties of 2 or more can make quick work of most regular dinos they run across, plus you get the shared experience!

Doing Game Stuff

Honestly, pretty much everything other than defecating in Ark will award you with experience points. Find what you like doing in the game and then do that. When you need a break, employ one of the strategies above for that extra experience bump to accelerate your progress.
