This is turning into a big issue with alot of people because the timing and coordiantion required is immense.

Lets start from the top.

Basics.

There are two things involved here. Heroic Opporunities (HO's), and the Combat Wheel (CW).

The Heroic Opportunities are a series or a predefined set of skill(s) used to lock a Combat Wheel.

Heroic Opportunities can be broken, a locked Combat Wheel cannot.

Use of the HO(s).

Each class has an ability that is used to initiate an HO. (Arcane Augur, Lucky Break, etc.).

These are the abilties you will use to take the first step towards locking a Combat Wheel.

When anyone in the group uses their HO ability, a blinking, colored, iconic circle with colored icons around it will appear in the lower right hand corner of your screen.

The large, colored circle in the middle tells you who's ability has been fired. (Green for Scout, Red for Mage, Yellow for Priest, Blue for Fighter.)

The smaller, colored icons around it tell you what classes abilities can be used to complete the HO, thereby locking a Combat Wheel into the encounter.

Example of HO completion.

Assume you are grouped with a Mage, a Priest, a Fighter, and a Scout, one of each.

The mage fires his "Arcane Augur" causing the blinking icons to pop up.

There will be a Red Gem icon in the middle, surrounded by a Yellow Priest Hammer, a Green Scout Coin, and a Red Mage Lightning Bolt.

This means that any skill with a lightning bolt, coin, or hammer can be used to lock a Combat Wheel.

Any skill used at this point that is NOT one listed above will break the HO rendering it useless.

Once an appropriate skill is fired, we move onto the next step.

(Note: If you are paying attention, the appropriate skills to complete the HO will flash on your hotbars.)

Completing a locked Combat Wheel.

This is the easy part.

Once the Combat Wheel appears (White wheel in the lower right hand corner, also, with flashing circular icons.) you will need to perform the skills associated with the icons that are flashing.

Any person in the group can complete the wheel, so long as they use the proper skill.

(Incorrect skills will not break a locked wheel, but they will also not complete it)

Once all skills have been fulfilled, the Wheel will complete, and the finished effect will hit the group or the target.

Summary and Soapbox.

You will kill monsters much faster by using the wheel.

When another group member fires their ability (hopefully with some warning) do your best to wait for the wheel to lock.

Getting off that last Backstab or Nuke will not kill the monster faster than a completed damage HO and Wheel. Save your skills to complete the wheel, or at least use them after the wheel has locked so that your skills do not break the initiation ability.

Remember, mobs are much easier to defeat with the wheel than they are by spamming your skills.
