Ten Ton Hammer's Inscription Guide

Inscription Guide (250-350)

Welcome to our third installment of the Inscription Powerleveling Guide. In here, we'll go from Silvery Pigment-based Herbs to Nether Pigment-based Herbs (spooky, huh?). This is the last part of our Guide focusing on Inscription before Wrath of the Lich King's herbs and leveling.

Remember, once we finish up in this guide, you will need to procure high level herbs from the icy continent of Northrend. As Wrath of the Lich King is still new, we will cover this in a future update.

Inscription Leveling: Silvery Pigment-based Herbs

Same as always, let's go near our trainer after we procure enough of these Herbs, enough to get atleast 70 Silvery Pigments that is!

  • Golden Sansam
  • Dreamfoil
  • Mountain Silversage
  • Plaguebloom
  • Icecap

Now, it's time to get milling! After you take a little coffee break and leave all your pigments being transformed into Ink - after a bit, you should be sitting at Skill Level 255.

At skill level 255, you may create:

  • Scroll of Spirit V

Compared to our former leveling, we got no Glyphs initially. But don't worry, this shouldn't matter as this scroll will suit us just fine. Once we arrive to 260, back to Glyphs we go! (missed making them?)

  • Glyph of Freezing Trap
  • Glyph of Shred

This should take us safely to Skill Level 265. Death Knights and Paladins get our next Glyphs:

  • Glyph of Bone Shield
  • Glyph of Exorcism

Making 5 gets us to Skill Level 270 already! isn't this going fast? Next up, Priests and Death Knight Glyphs once more:

  • Glyph of Fear Ward
  • Glyph of Frost Strike

At Skill Level 275, it is recommended you use up your Sapphire Pigments you may have obtained during your milling - you will only need 5.

  • Ink of the Sky

Once we arrive at level 280, we can make the following Glyph:

  • Glyph of Mana Gem

Almost to the next set of herbs, ready to get to Outland level? At level 285, you can make the following Glyphs:

  • Glyph of Execution
  • Glyph of Death Grip
  • Glyph of Sprint

Level 290! Almost to the high 300's! The problem here is, these last few skillups will be a bit painful since you will have to either use Outland pigments, or level off of green skillups. To get rid of our former materials, let's just make more Glyphs of Sprint, and most probably last until 300!

  • Glyph of Sprint (again)

Congratulations! You no longer need Azeroth herbs in your Inscription Leveling! Now, all the herbs from here on out will come from Outland and Northrend. Give yourself a pat on the back, and let's continue!

Inscription Leveling: Nether Pigment-based herbs

Nether Pigments, the first type of Pigment you get from Outland herbs, and guess what? the ONLY type! so no matter what kind of herb you find in Outland, it will all mill into Nether Pigment. How's that for an easy ride to 350?

Nether Pigment Herbs:

  • All Outland-based Herbs, starting from Felweed.

Alright! let's make a whopping 110 Nether Pigments, so they translate into 55 Ethereal Inks! This shouldn't be an issue if you're leveling across Outland or simply are powerleveling your profession from the beginning. Keep any Ebon Pigments you get, too.

By Milling and Making Ink, you should be at Skill 305.

Skills 305 to 315 are simple, just make:

  • Scroll of Strength VI

After 315, we get another nice option in the form of another Scroll:

  • Scroll of Agility VI

Only make 5 of the above, leading us to Skill Level 320. From here, we can make more Glyphs easily:

  • Glyph of Sweeping Strikes

If you have enough Ebon Pigments to make Darkflame Ink, use them now to boost up to your 320's, if you don't have enough, however, simply make:

  • Glyph of Mage Armor
  • Glyph of Succubus

At Skill Level 335, we have another easy set, with the Glyphs:

  • Glyph of Scourge Strike
  • Glyph of Windfury Weapon

Finally, 10 to go! let's make another 5 Glyphs of either:

  • Glyph of Ambush
  • Glyph of Death Strike

This sets us at skill level 345. We only need 5 more for Northrend herbs! Thankfully, Warriors come to our aid:

  • Glyph of Whirlwind

This leaves us at skill level 350, and ready to tackle on the next set of Herbs coming directly from Northrend! Stay tuned as we continue our Inscription leveling guide here at TenTonHammer!
