Shortly after the Romans defeated the Ertuscans and took control of Morbus Fields, the entire region of farmlands, forests, and boggy moors was stricken by a mold blight that killed nearly all forms of vegetation.

  • Giant insects known as Cimex have begun plaguing the region, as well, mercilessly slaying nearly everything and everyone not already sickened or killed by the mold blight.

  • The citizens of Phlere built a wall around their entire village in an attempt to keep the evil things out - but no one has had much success in warding off the plague-bringing mold or the Cimex. Both the human and Dryad inhabitants of Morbus Fields lead dreadful lives' many have gone mad, either through despair or through consuming the mold - which is the only thing thriving in this once highly arable land.

Large numbers of undead animals and formerly-human Larvae inhabit nearly the whole region. Someone or something has been reanimating the corpses of those men and beasts who have succumed to the blight.
