In response to fans, BioWare posted this response.
We are aware that there are concerns about a recent post from this account regarding the ending of the game. In this post it was stated that at this time we do not have plans to change the ending.
We would like to clarify that we are actively and seriously taking all player feedback into consideration and have ruled nothing out. At this time we are still collecting and considering your feedback and have not made a decision regarding requests to change the ending.
Your feedback and opinions are of the utmost importance to us. We apologize for any confusion this has caused. Our top priority regarding this discussion is to keep communication with you, our loyal fans, open and productive.
The response along with a message from Mass Effect 3 Executive Producer Casey Hudson on Friday appears to indicate that BioWare is at least considering revising or making additions to the end of the story. All that is still simply in the air for now, but fans of the Retake Mass Effect 3 movement rallying for a better ending option (be it happy or just one that clears up a few gaping plot holes) have managed to gain more than 43k Facebook followers and have accumulated over $67k in donations for the Child’s Play charity as a symbol of how many support the goal.
What the future holds for Mass Effect 3 is still unclear, but if Mass Effect 2 taught us anything, it’s that it will likely include DLC…lots and lots of DLC. The ending to Mass Effect 2 was even expanded on with The Arrival DLC, which served as a bridging point for the two games. Could we see something similar for Mass Effect 3 pertaining to Shepard’s ending? Tell us what you think below.
