BioWare has dated the final installment of the Mass Effect trilogy and the war for Earth begins March 9th, 2012.

EA's E3 2011 press conference has revealed lots of juicy details today and Mass Effect 3 wasn't left out. The final installment of the epic space saga has been dated and will ship to retailers on March 9th, 2012.

The Mass Effect 3 presentation revealed one other bits of interesting information. The game's Xbox 360 version will feature Kinect gameplay support. Given certain PC mods it's also possible that the Xbox peripheral could be utilized for Mass Effect 3 PC play as well.

In addition to the release date, exclusive pre-order offers have been announced for Mass Effect 3 N7 Collector’s Edition through EA's new Origin platform and will include in-game appearance packs, a digital version of the Dark Horse Comic Book, a digital version of the art book, an exclusive extended soundtrack, a digital version of the exclusive lithograph and the N7 Arsenal Pack.
