The end of the world is one step closer with the announcement that World of Warcraft patch 4.0.3 will be hitting today and tomorrow (depending on whether you live in the US or EU). Blizzard officially confirmed the patch on the breaking news pane informing EU players that scheduled maintenance being extended

Folks expecting the second sundering of Azeroth (that’s Deathwing blowing the world to bits) are going to be a tad disappointed as this patch is focuses on minor bug fixes as well as animations for your Deathy BlizzCon pet. However, the download is bulked out by more of that all-important data your computer is going to need to enjoy the world being destroyed when Blizzard finally flick the switch on the Shattering, shortly before Cataclysm launches.

For those who weren’t at BlizzCon, the Deathy pet had a bit of a problem figuring out which kind of murloc he was. Rather than the murloc incarnation of the Aspect of Death, the little guy was having fantasies about being some kind of marine from some game no one has ever heard of called StarCraft II. Thankfully this patch should see him returned to his rightful self as well as finally possessing some awesome animations rather than the ones possessed by Grunty.
