Sony held its reveal for the PlayStation 4 tonight with presentations from several developers and tech experts to show off the power, social features, and flexibility of Sonys new system. Near the end of the presentation, representatives from Bungie and Blizzard made an appearance to announce that both Destiny and Diablo III will be making its way to the PlayStation 4.
Destiny, which was revealed by Bungie over the weekend, is a multiplayer shooter for the console. The initial announcement of Destiny placed the shooter on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but as expected, the title will be making its way to the PlayStation 4 as well.
Blizzards Senior Vice President of Story and Franchise Development Chris Metzen also made an appearance to announce that the long-rumored console version of Diablo III will be making its debut on the PlayStation 4 (also the PlayStation 3) thanks to a new strategic partnership with Sony to quote take over the world.
The PlayStation 4 also boasts to have much more flexibility for developers in both development and business models. This could certainly lead to an expansion of other online games and MMOGs making their way to the consoles finally. The next generation of consoles may be interesting indeed. It's certainly long overdue.
