A new event is on it's way to the Tower starting on February 9th. The Crimson Days will shower the Tower in red rose petals and events that will be on par with the Festival of the Lost in terms of activities and scale.

This February, in the world of the real, loving couples will descend upon crowded restaurants to exchange gifts and glance deeply into each other’s fluttering eyes. In the world of Destiny, the Guardians will be celebrating the rare variety of companionship that can only be found in the heat of battle. You’re invited to the Tower to partake in the real party, a ritual known by the brave as Crimson Days.

Crimson Days will also feature a new Crucible mode for teams of two that promises some interesting mechanics themed around Valentines Day.

It features a special twist, born of new gameplay and mechanics that only battle-tested star-crossed lovers will appreciate. You’ll need a dancing partner – preferably one that compliments your fighting style.

Things have been pretty quiet for Destiny as of late, with no expansion in the near future and only a muddy picture of an event-centric year two on the horizon, a lot of guardians are wondering where it's all going. While it hasn't been officially announced, many have speculated that Destiny 2 is in the works for fall 2016, which would explain the swap to events over DLC. Whether the communities hunger for new content is satiated by the events Bungie has planned we will have to wait and see.
