Carbine is working as fast as they can to make sure you can play the F2P launch of WildStar without lag and I personally applaud them for such efforts. Right now, for many, the game is nearly unplayable, but never fear, as Carbine is on the case according to this Reddit thread.

Hey There,

Resolving this is the number one priority for Carbine right now.

So don't worry too much if your experience is ruined right now, it should be. You have to always be really lenient when a game is free when problems like this exist, because it's a good thing - interest is high and I know for a fact Carbine was working as hard as they could to make sure they could handle the server load. Additionally, remember something - when you scale production servers to meet initial demand, but that demand will only occur during the first week, the additional production servers then go to waste from that point forward. In modern times, with the cloud, scalability is a bit easier to "on the fly" increase resources and then later decrease them paying only for the server time, but at the same time games are usually hosted in dedicated units for a myriad of reasons.

Honestly, I have literally no clue how to fix game lag, but hopefully Carbine does and they're working on it.

Anyway, I'm sure it's not an easy problem to solve, but Carbine has stated they're working on it, so we should all sit back and relax, and perhaps listen to some music.
