Chinese insurance company Sunshine Insurance Group Corporation has partnered with Gamebar to offer a new kind of insurance to gamers. China Daily reports that the new insurance offers protection for players from theft or loss of “virtual property” that include “land” or “currency.”

The insurance also offers protection for game operators, which can be a positive for them when dealing with disputes between players over virtual goods and items.
