Obsessive elitism is what you get from ambulation maturation I guess.

CCP's Fan Fest 2008 is off and running, as described in today's Loading... by our man on the street Jeff "Ethec" Woleslagle. Some of the main ingredients of this year's Fan Fest include significant and detailed information about the technology running EVE Online (if you don't believe me, read the Loading... mentioned above, it makes my head hurt).

Another major component of Fan Fest is the discussion about ambulation, or the ability to get out of our ships and stretch our legs. A longtime dream of EVE players, the dream is becoming a reality. According to Eurogamer, EVE, as usual, is taking a different approach to community space in the stations though:

"CCP is taking its own idiosyncratic approach to content in Walking In Stations. Instead of designing lavish environments and writing hours of NPC dialogue for players to enjoy, the game's space stations will largely be blank canvasses: promenade rows of empty sockets for players to plug their own businesses into, and even write their own content."

That sounds so CCP. I'm intrigued and a little bit nervous about what ambulation will bring to the game. For more information, be sure to stop by our new EVE Fan Fest 2008 Portal.
