DualShockers has a recent report up from last week’s Nico Nico Chokaigi event, which Producer/Director Naoki Yoshida revealed more details about the upcoming launch of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (FFXIV). The DualShockers report stated that Yoshida announced that the third closed beta for FFXIV: A Realm Reborn will begin in June and include the addition of the PlayStation 3 to the testing. That closed beta event will be followed by the full relaunch sometime later this summer.

Additionally, the report also noted that pre-orders should be available sometime in May, likely around the 20th, and players that opt to pre-order the Collector’s Edition will still get the in-game items from the original, just not the physical items.

DualShockers has a pretty thorough rundown in bullet point if you’re interested to see all that was discussed, such as the new level sync feature being added with beta phase 3, which will provide players with the option of syncing their level with areas of lower FATE when they enter, scaling their equipment and level to the appropriate amount. In a way it sounds like Guild Wars 2's zone scaling mechanic but optional rather than mandatory. Head over and check out the full report for all the details.
