Firefall opens up for all this weekend with the first of three planned public beta tests for the online shooter. The tests will be available to anyone with a Firefall account with no beta keys required for participation. Each 48-hour event will feature a community unlock contest with a unique theme aimed at teaching new players about Firefall.

The first event is set to begin on Friday, January 25th at 10am PT and will conclude on Sunday, January 28th at 12am PT with two additional events to follow in February and March. Visit the Firefall beta event page to learn more and check out the video below for a look at the latest content.

Three Unlocked 48-hour Stress-tests Planned

Laguna Hills, Calif. – January 22, 2013 – Red 5 Studios™ announced today that Firefall will begin its first public beta test this Friday during an unlocked 48-hour “Beta Weekend”. The Jan 25 test is one of three unlocked Beta Weekends scheduled for early this year. Two additional public stress-tests are planned for February and March as part of Red 5’s strategy to gradually roll out Firefall’s beta. These Beta Weekend stress-tests will be completely unlocked with no keys required – allowing everyone to participate in the Tribe’s Closed Beta push. Additionally, each 48-hour weekend will incorporate a community unlock, exclusive contest and unique theme to teach new players what Firefall is all about. This weekend features:

• Community Unlock – Play during the weekend to unlock an exclusive, customized Battleframe decal
• Livestream – Join a special episode of Firefall Live on TwitchTV to see Athene and Reese owning the competition with their own skillshots
