It was a whirlwind year for Destiny. Multiple expansions were released early in 2015, but the game really came into it's own when the Taken King was finally launched along side a patch that would change the game in all the right ways. The quest system was streamlined, the robotic Dinklage was replaced for a more engaging voice actor, and we finally got some new story content that expanded the Destiny universe the base game only gave us tidbits of (and through collectible cards of all things).

Unfortunately things took a bit of a sour turn near the end of the year with the introduction of the cash store, specifically the purchasable leveling boosts that are grossly overpriced for what they offer (boost to lvl 25). But it looks like the guys at Bungie are trying to start things off on a positive note for 2016 by arranging a small gift for all the guardians in the game. If you log in between January 7th and 10th you'll receive 15 Strange coins and Motes of Light as well as a special mystery emblem. You can pick up your items from the postmaster in the tower or the reef.
