It’s been a busy few days for Guild Wars 2 news. Much of it has been gleaned from the Rezzed World versus World trailer as well as data mining the client for information (thanks That_Shaman!). If you don’t want any Guild Wars 2: Heart Of Thorns spoilers, I’d suggest you look away now.

First up is the revelation that the Guardian will be able to use the Longbow in the expansion pack. How do we know this? Well, an eagle eyed Redditor saw on the Rezzed World versus World trailer a Guardian using one. Have a look at the Charr that dodges backwards in the right of the frame - that’s his Guardian Trait, Selfless Daring, healing him. What happens next? He whips out his Longbow!

That gives us a list of the following:

  • Necromancer > Greatsword
  • Ranger > Staff
  • Mesmer > Shield
  • Elementalist > Sword
  • Guardian > Longbow
  • Engineer > Hammer

Leaving just the Warrior, Thief and Revenant. My money is on a Torch or Rifle for the Thief, Staff for the Warrior and Scepter for the Revenant.

There’s also new data that’s providing a huge list of Revenant skills and the weapons it can wield. The most interesting aspect has to be the fact the staff is melee based, not ranged. How awesome is that? If that wasn’t cool enough, it looks like the Elementalist will have main-hand sword. Take a look at the bottom of the link and you’ll see a selection of its new skill codes. You can copy and paste these into game or view them here and here.

Still on the subject of the Revenant, some of the potential Legends have also been uncovered:

  • Glint
  • Ventari
  • Shiro Tagachi

I really wasn’t expecting Ventari and Shiro has sent many Guild Wars fans into a frenzy. Hopefully one of these Legends will offer much more mobility that Jalis and Mallyx.

Finally, That_Shaman has also managed to drag up some maps of Heart Of Thorns. Not much to look at, but it’s something.

Other than that and if you haven’t already, you should check out all our Guild Wars 2: Heart Of Thorns coverage:

There’s an awesome new video I got sent on Twitter that shows off perfectly, just how good the new first person view is.

Lastly, Guild Wars 2 have just posted a new blog post about the World versus World Elemental Borderland.
