Worlds In Motion examines the venerable Mr. Richard Bartle's response to the recent study on gender and online games.

Nottingham Trent University's recent study, that found 70 percent of females and 54 percent of males prefer to play as the opposite gender, is the sort of online worlds story that the media absolutely loves. But Richard Bartle, arguably the father of online worlds, says on his blog that it makes him "sad."

He argues that the study is being used to push a stereotype of women being treated badly online, for one thing, as he saw a Guardian headline that read: "Sexual Harassment is Rife Online - No Wonder Women Swap Gender."
