Were here once again this week. Star Citizen has broken the $21 million mark, confirming the addition of the Salvage Mechanic career with the broken stretch goal. With yet another stretch goal shattered, Star Citizen is already on its way to the next goal, which will add a facial capture system to the game at the $22 million mark, allowing players to use their cameras to place their face on their pilots. Additionally, Chris Roberts also revealed the $23 million stretch goal with the Xian Scout. Here's the description:
- Xian Scout Unlocked! The Khartu is the light attack craft of the XiAn military. Contrary to Human ship design, the Khartu doesnt have a traditional main thruster, instead featuring an array of maneuvering thrusters on articulated rigs. This design allows for incredible agility, making them the bane of UEE pilots, who bestowed the nickname Quark because when all of the thrusters are firing, the ship looks like a spark flying through space. The Xian Aopoa corporation also manufactures an export model, the Khartu-al, for sale to human civilians as a dedicated scout/explorer. The export model features the same Xian maneuvering rig, but control surfaces modified for human use and a more limited armament. (Designer: Aopoa)
Not too bad for a genre that some once considered dead. In any case, I expect well be writing about the $22 million goal being hit soon enough given the track record so stay tuned.
