While this doesn’t necessarily constitute MMOG news, I think you guys might enjoy it all the same. One thing that inevitably happens at this time of the year is there will be theft and shoplifting. Such is the case with today’s subject, 22 year old Timothy Randall Clark of Waldorf, Maryland. Mr. Clark was allegedly spotted in the back room of a Wal-Mart Saturday, helping himself to several video games and peripherals. The report states Clark stuffed his sweatshirt and pants with the goods and attempted to make his illustrious escape. Unfortunately, there was one major flaw in his escape plan.

As it turns out, this just happened to be “Shop with a Cop” day, a program where underprivileged children get to spend the day with an officer and enjoy shopping with donated funds and a meal. Unfortunately for Clark, were as many as 50 officers in the store at the time of his alleged caper. Needless to say, he didn’t get very far.

Clark was apprehended in the Wal-Mart parking lot by officers, who after a search discovered 26 Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 games, two controllers and other game accessories valued at roughly $635.04. Clark was charged with theft, and while the story reminds me of another not so bright aspiring criminal, he did learn a very important lesson – if you’re shoplifting from a store, make sure there’s not a full police force already on the premises.
