Undead Labs wants to provide a legitimate reason for players to fight for the survival of their characters in Class3. A new story posted to the Undead Labs website follows a group of survivors and some of the things that they learned while surviving in a post-apocalyptic world filled with zombies.

There are details in the story that relate to the game and at the end that the devs reveal that they have even taken the risky design decision to make death permanent to ensure that choices will matter.

This is the heart of Class3. It’s a game that’s not just about fighting zombies — it’s focused on the dangers and struggles of post-apocalyptic survival. To us, this means making your choices matter. It means giving you freedom with consequences, and sometimes those consequences are harsh: your community can be wiped out, and all characters (including yours) are at risk of permanent death.
