Warhammer 40k: Eternal Crusade is releasing its early alpha test on September 14th, about a week from now, but only to some backers. Anyone with a Captain's Pack or higher will be allowed into this early, early version of the game. Not only that, but just around 100 will be allowed in at first, first bought, first serve. Everyone will be let in based on their purchase date, with just a few and then expanding it to everyone.

On Monday September 14th, the people that have Captain’s packs or higher in terms of RTP and were the first to buy, will start to enter the Closed Alpha. We will start slowly with admission in the 100s, with the eventual goal of getting all Captain’s pack and higher in by October.

If you want to get in as part of the Captain’s wave, you can still secure your spot in it by buying, or upgrading, to a Captain’s pack before we start the Sergeants’ wave. I know; shameless plug but more Founders means more war. In the grim darkness of the far future, there can be only more war.

The captains pack is $120, and the sergeants is $90. If you buy in now, you'll get priority access when they let (I assume) the final wave of captains in, but any pack will probably have you testing the game by years end.

One key note to pay attention to, because I notice a lot of comments about this, is that WH40k: EC is a massively multiplayer shooter and not an MMORPG. So they're focusing on the shooter element, to start with, and then the massively element. This isn't launch, but a closed alpha, so the game will be very buggy. Just standard warnings with these kinds of things.

Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade is far from complete. It is still in development, will evolve and will be updated weekly. We are a Massive Online Shooter and the Closed Alpha focuses only on creating a great Shooter experience, before becoming Massive.

Anyway, if you wanna buy in, check out this page to purchase a pack now and reserve your slot in the grim dark future. You can read the full state of the crusade here.
