Warhammer Online has released its January "Producer's Letter", outlining plans for 2011. Unlike previous letters, this one isn't written by Executive Producer Carrie Gouskos, the latest entry is filled by Producer James Casey, who stated in the letter that Carrie is working on a different side of the game that "will be revealed in due time". Those devs do love to tease.

style="font-style: italic;">Warhammer rolls out its content plans to expand the war for 2011.

The latest letter details the method in which updates will be handled this year, essentially following the same theme as last year beginning with the 1.4.1 update that will add some new features to the game and squash a few bugs. One of the newest features included in the update is the ability to claim entitlement items via the UI rather than in a mail that could expire if left unchecked for too long. The feature will also allow players to reclaim old entitlement items that they may have misplaced long ago.

This new interface will replace the current method of delivering account entitlements via the in game mail system. We did this for a number of reasons. The primary reason is that in-game mail expires by necessity. The new claim interface will allow you to claim the items anytime. The second reason is that we wanted to give you an easier method to recover lost items that you may have misplaced over time. For items that don’t have charges or function as a ‘currency’ item, such as War Tract scrolls, players will be able to reset those account entitlements at their leisure without having to contact customer service.

The patch will also include some adjustments to Scenarios, including the return of The Maw of Madness Scenario to Tier 4. Future content updates will also include eight new and returning live events, the expansion of account entitlements, a name change option and more customization options for your characters. Check out the full letter on the Warhammer Online website.
