Live Producer Craig Turner chimed in for this week’s WildStar Wednesday, and the topic of discussion is one that’s on everybody’s mind – the chance to get into the beta. After a brief introduction and some background on his job, Turner discussed plans for the first of WildStar’s stress test weekends. While no date has been set for the event yet, Turner did state that invitations will be sent out a few days in advance to give players a chance to get patched up and ready.

Carbine plans to get lots of people in for the stress test weekend to break the servers as badly as possible, so if you get chosen for the event, don’t go rage quitting on the forums if every time you log in the servers explode. In this case, that’s the point. However, there is a silver lining. Players that are selected for the stress test and make an active effort to log in during the event to aid in blowing up the servers will be invited back to a future beta event when things are more stable. Think of it as a sort of “thank you” for the inevitable frustration that stress test events can cause from constant login attempts.

"If Community is going to make me give you the bad news, I’m going to spoil their good news, Turner wrote. Everyone that gets an invite into the Stress Test and makes a good faith attempt to log into the game during the test will be guaranteed an invite into a future (much more stable) Closed Beta test as a thank you. I need your help in breaking the server, and we want to invite you back to play when I’m not trying to do mean things to the hardware. So help us break everything as many times as possible this weekend, and we'll make it up to you with a real beta invite in the future."

If you’re looking for a chance to get a sneak peek at WildStar and have a chance to cause strange things to happen to the servers, head over and sign up for the beta and stay tuned for more details.
