Several World of Warplanes fans celebrated the launch of Wargaming’s latest title not by playing it, but rather by not playing it, and instead climbed a mountain. According to Wargaming’s press release that went out today, the crew spent over a month climbing in the steep, ice-covered cliffs, reaching alttudes of up to 5,000 meters. Along the way up, the team of climbers stopped for rest and to indulge in a little World of Warplanes fun.

“Although it’s not the first time we’ve climbed in the Himalayas, this expedition has been an amazing and special journey for us all,” says the team’s leader Arseniy Gerasimenko. “We’ve broken several new trails, which was a hard, but satisfying experience. On our way upward, we stopped to get some rest and play World of Warplanes.”

Upon reaching the top, the crew planted a World of Warplanes flag on one of the Himalayan peaks. So a big congrats to the intrepid crew of climbers for once again braving the path, and for also celebrating a game’s launch in a most unique way.
