Sometimes the things that turn up in my inbox make me fear for the future of humanity. But today I received one about the self-proclaimed “laziest MMORPG ever” known as Tweeria, and it gave me a good laugh.

If you have a Twitter account, those tweets about a movie you watched or food you had may seem innocent enough, but somewhere in Tweeria (the second version of a game known as Tweenk Lazy MMORPG), a game that has already generated a character for every Twitter user with stats based on their number of Tweets and followers, someone is taking a fireball to the face. In fact, your character just goes on an adventure whenever you tweet. The full description of the game is as follows:

Tweeria is a game with minimal user's involvement. Everytime you tweet, your alter ego finds adventures, kills monsters or gets items. Every tweet you post can change his life. At the time you tweet "Good morning" your character finds a new sword.

According to the game’s description page, you can also enable PvP for your character and take part in raid events. The funny thing about Tweeria is that pretty much anyone that has a Twitter account is on it, so you might one day find that your character has cut down a famous actor or introduced Paris Hilton to the business end of a Morningstar.

Tweeria has in the past accepted artwork from the community and taken some heat for utilizing certain art assets from games such as World of Warcraft. A recent blog addresses some of this and the team's stance and approach to using art going forward.

Are you curious to see how your Twitter character is progressing? Head over to the Tweeria website to register and take a look.

Thanks to Andrew for the tip.
